While one could use an Apollo and never bother with using UAD plugins through Console (Apollo’s digital mixing software), it would be a waste IMO. I am a beginner to this world, sorry If I m being clueless.
I m looking into purchasing an apollo arrow/apollo solo as I can not afford the Twin version, this means I am very limited in the number of plugins I can use in the UAD console and I am afraid that it will not perform while monitoring and recording with the DAW native plugins. The question is if I choose to not use the low latency UAD plugins, will this interface perform only with the plugins used in the DAW while recording/monitoring? Are apollo interfaces an option only if you want to use the UAD plugins while recording for low latency? I do not understand how Apollo interfaces interact with plugins outside of the low latency option in the UAD console. How does it work?Įxample of my current latency: I have a low end interface now and I am able to record and monitor my vocals at 11ms latency which is enough for me (64 samples) with autotune, 2 pro q3 plugins, deesser, CLA-2A, CLA 76, saturation, reverb and delay in my chain. I am confused about how the latency works with Apollo interfaces.
